A major contributing factor to paper clutter is the amount of junk mail pouring into our homes and establishments each day. The best way to handle junk mail is to immediately throw it in the trash! But wouldn’t it be nice if we didn't have to throw away these annoying solicitations in the first place?

The following are steps you can take to dramatically reduce the amount of junk mail you receive:
  • Register with the Direct Marketing Association to stop receiving solicitations from companies you’ve never done business with before. www.dmachoice.org
  • Your local telephone or internet service providers (e.g. AT&T and AOL) are most likely selling your personal information. Be sure to call each of them and "opt out".
  • Call all the magazines that you subscribe to and opt out of their mailing lists.
  • Limit the amount of  surveys you fill out, even if you're offered a prize.
  • Contact each company directly when you no longer wish to receive solicitations from them.
  • Make it clear in the beginning of opening a new account with a new company that you don't want them selling your information.
If you follow these simple steps, you will see a significant decrease in the amount of junk mail you receive within 1-3 months.  It has worked for all of my clients and it will work for you too!  Just follow the links above to get started.
