Spring Cleaning

Every year at this time, we think about spring cleaning. It’s time to clean up the yard, pool deck, boat, wash windows, and clean the closets! Yes – closets – ooh, just the thought is enough to make you want to hide in the closet! If the closet has been the catch all for negative organization – it is time to take inventory. Maybe all the pictures taken at Christmas could find a new home or what about the box with all the books that were read
this winter? Don’t even mention the several pairs of black shoes that you couldn’t even give away! It’s quite normal to use the closet as storage for everything that doesn’t have a “ real” home or a designated space. You put it on a shelf and close the closet door!

Closet organization and clean up starts with taking inventory of everything found there. Any article of clothing that hasn’t been worn in six months to a year should be folded and identified as the pile to give away. Start with the dresses (usually there are fewer of them). From there move on to the pants/slacks/jackets/suits/blouses/shorts/shoes/purses/ hats, etc.

When you take closet organization seriously, you should call a professional
company like Get Organized in Orlando, FL. They will take the A to Z’s of closet organization and make it simple. A professional closet organizer can spot wasted space. They will ask specific question on how you store and hang your clothing in order to optimize all the available space. Once they lay out a plan that is based on your unique wardrobe, available space, and lifestyle – all things in that closet should have a home and be available for your selection. Statistically, having a custom closet system has been
proven to alleviate stress in the morning- allowing for a better start to your day!

So this year – add calling a professional custom closet organizer to your list of spring cleaning items to design a specific custom closet system for you. The cost will be repaid daily as you dress with less stress, not to mention the added value should you be selling your home. Especially in homes with limited storage, it will maximize your storage space and make keeping that spring cleaning throughout the year a much easier task!
